Although the theoretical lifespan of the LED is widely accepted as 100.000 hours in lighting applications, it also widely depends on the enclosure design, thermal design & capacity, the power supply choice and quality of the LED chips used All these factors considered the actually lifespan is usually can be around 30.000 to 60.000 hours of operation in real life conditions. . Usually the cause of the shorter lifespan is due to poor thermal design and/or poor quality power supplies not matching the needs of the LED unit.
